The Apostle John wrote the book of Revelation at about A.D. 96, probably while on the Island of Patmos, off the western coast of Asia Minor, where John was banished "because of the Word of God and of the testimony of Jesus" 1:2.

This revelation, or unveiling, of Jesus is written to give hope to all Christians, especially those who are suffering. It reveals Jesus Christ as the ultimate victorious King of kings and Lord of lords.
